Chicago was lots of fun. Met lots of nice people and photographed several nice families and some adorable ballerinas for a costume manufacturer. I love little girls. Having no daughter of my own, I take great joy in photographing girls in girly clothes. The little ballerina was a delight!

Lots of news! First off, Spinning Yarns Press is coming to Chicago! Julia DeVos Ford, longtime good friend and designer extraordinaire, is heading up the Chicago office of Spinning Yarns Press. There will be lots more book projects at the Botanical Gardens, The Lincoln Park Zoo, the shores of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier so stay tuned for pictures. I can't wait. An excuse to visit my old hometown a whole lot more!
First trip is next week. First a shoot at the Conservatory within the lovely Botanical Gardens on Chicago's North Shore. Then Scones & Java at Julia's house Wednesday morning, Feb 4 from 9:30 to 11 for a chance to view books in person if you've never seen them before. Email if you need an invite. Hope to see you, Chicago!

I've been shooting -- not blogging

Sorry for the lack of posts. I've been shooting and haven't kept up. Here's a couple of my favorites from recent shoots...

Aria and Evann

I first photographed these girls back in 2006. They say they remember playing dress-up at my studio but how can they? I think they remember the pictures. You know that Disney kid's song "Making Memories?" It's sooo true! If we make a photograph of a time or event, it's indelibly etched into our brains, even if we don't look at the photo that often. What do you remember from your childhood. Do your parents have a photo of it? I'll bet they do!
